What this practice is

Not a med spa. Not a supplement program. Not another giant weight-loss app. Simply Metabolic is a medical practice dedicated to helping South Carolina adults lose weight and keep it off. No compounded weight-loss medications, ever. When medication is part of your plan, it is a real prescription filled at a licensed retail pharmacy you select.

Physician-led weight management built around you

Work directly with the same obesity medicine physician throughout your care.

Simply Metabolic is built for people who want careful evaluation, structured follow-up, and a more personal online care model, not a one-time prescription visit.

Physician perspective

Why I Built Simply Metabolic.

I kept seeing the same problem. Weight loss was almost never the main focus. It was one more thing to fit into a short visit, or an add-on at a clinic that mostly does something else, or an app where you never see the same person twice.

I thought there should be a medical practice that simply specialized in weight loss. So I built one.

Our goal is simple: help you lose weight and keep it off, with a plan that is safe, sustainable, and built around you.

Is Simply Metabolic right for you?

Designed for patients who want thoughtful, ongoing medical care.

This practice works best for people who want a structured plan and regular follow-up with the same physician.

This may be a fit if

  • You live in South Carolina.
  • You want the same physician throughout your care, not rotating providers.
  • You are looking for ongoing treatment, not a one-time prescription visit.
  • You are comfortable paying directly, without insurance billing.

This may not be the right fit if

  • You live outside South Carolina.
  • You are mainly looking for the lowest-cost option.
  • You want a guarantee that a specific medication will be prescribed.
  • You need emergency care, primary care, or treatment for unrelated conditions.

Why Simply Metabolic

Weight loss isn't one of the things we do. It's what we do.

This is a dedicated weight loss practice, not a service added on to something else. One physician is responsible for your care from the first evaluation onward.

01 / Obesity medicine expertise

Care led by a board-certified obesity medicine physician.

Obesity medicine is its own specialty. Your plan reflects that training rather than a general approach to dieting.

02 / One doctor who knows you

No rotating-provider model.

You work directly with the same physician throughout your care, instead of repeatedly explaining your history to different providers.

03 / More than a prescription

Medication is one part of the plan.

Insurance navigation, labs when indicated, nutrition, activity, and ongoing adjustment are part of the same care.

Your first visit

An hour for you. A plan you can act on.

A full video visit with Dr. Robak, time for your questions, and 14 days of messaging afterward. Bring your recent lab results if you have them, and he will review them with you during your visit.

What the visit covers

  • Your history, heard. Review what you have tried, what worked, and what did not.
  • Medication options, explained. Discuss what fits your health history, including insurance coverage and self-pay costs.
  • A prescription, if appropriate. Sent that day to the licensed retail pharmacy you choose, when clinically appropriate.
  • Your next steps, in writing. Leave with a personalized plan and 14 days of messaging to ask what you forgot to ask.
One visit. A clear starting point.

About Dr. Robak

Obesity medicine care led personally by Dr. Robak.

Theodore “TJ” Robak, MD is board-certified in obesity medicine and founded Simply Metabolic as a practice devoted entirely to weight loss for South Carolina adults. You are evaluated, treated, and followed up by the same physician throughout your care.

A few things to know

Before you start.

Straight answers about medication, eligibility, and what this practice does and does not provide.

Can you prescribe Zepbound or Wegovy?

Yes, when clinically appropriate. Dr. Robak reviews your history and safety during your visit and determines whether medication is right for you. If appropriate, it is sent that day to the licensed retail pharmacy you choose.

Is medication included in the $299?

No. The $299 includes your physician visit, written plan, and 14 days of messaging. Medication is paid separately to your pharmacy. Read about medication costs.

Can I use my insurance?

Visit and membership fees are paid directly to the practice and are not billed to insurance. Medication may be covered: when a prescription is appropriate, we pursue coverage and prior authorization where applicable, and manufacturer self-pay programs where it is not.

Do I have to join a membership?

No membership is required for your first visit. You leave with your written plan whether or not you continue. Weight-loss medication requires ongoing care, which in our practice requires a membership to deliver the best standard of care to you. The monthly plan can be cancelled anytime.

Do you use compounded medications?

No. Simply Metabolic does not use compounded weight-loss medications. When medication is prescribed, it is dispensed through a licensed retail pharmacy selected by the patient. Simply Metabolic does not sell or supply medication.

Who can book a visit?

Adults 18 and older who live in South Carolina. Visits are by video. The initial questions help determine whether you qualify to book; treatment decisions happen with the physician during your visit.
